This exquisite Vintage 70's CHANEL Tweed Jacket features Lion Head Buttons!  Leo was Coco Chanel's astrological sign and the lion was often featured in Chanel's designs.  The Chanel Creations label was used between 1972-1982 right after the death of Coco and before Karl Lagerfeld took over the house.  A similar jacket was featured in a 70's Chanel ad which I have included here. You can see the lion buttons and the model is wearing a lion charm belt to match!  Martha (the other label on this piece) was a well known high end department store which opened on Park Avenue in NYC in 1932.  She also had stores in Palm Beach.
